Salvation is the ongoing experience of God's presence transforming us into whom God intends us to be. John Wesley called this grace sanctification. Through this experience of grace, we grow and mature in our ability to live as followers of Jesus. When we pray, study the Scriptures, fast, worship, and join in fellowship with other Christians, we deepen our knowledge of and love for God. Then as we take action on this new understanding and experience of love to share with others in need, we strengthen our ability to love our neighbors. It's then that our lives line up with God's will. Wesley understood this to be an ongoing process for us all.
